Adventures In Nightlife

On average, a person spends more time on their mobile device than sleeping, checking their emails, or eating breakfast. Isn’t that crazy?! Think about all the time you spend on your phone that you can be doing almost anything else.

With technology consuming more and more of our world, it is important to experience and create opportunities to unplug from the internet sometimes. By unplugging, you get to connect with the people you love and share some great experiences.

Taking a break from your mobile device also has great health benefits emotionally, mentally, and even physically.

Most people get less sleep because of smartphones and technology devices. We think we can multitask on a zillion devices, but honestly, it’s very hard. We have increasingly become addicted to the internet more and more. All of this is scientifically shown to be hurting our productivity and making us less happy.

Even if you don’t feel like going out or hitting the nightclub on a particular weekend, you should reconsider. These days, more people miss out on one-of-a-kind experiences because they are too preoccupied with their phones.

Nightclubs let you get back to the fun, take a break from technology and social media, and also create some adventure. Especially after the pandemic, people are craving that person-to-person connection, and nightclubs are the best place to let loose and meet fun people.

By choosing the best nightlife with selected and quality nightclubs, you will have a great time and also let loose after the work week without going too overboard and regretting it. No one likes a regretful night where you spend too much money and don’t have that much fun.

In this article, we’ll talk about the perks of a digital detox, tips and tricks to accomplish it, and how to have an incredible night out while having fun without the stress.

Have a digital detox day

You spend the week checking your emails non-stop and staring at all of your devices, moving from your phone to your laptop, back to your phone. It can get exhausting! We know that work is important and a digital detox on an average work week is basically impossible.

The weekend, however, is the perfect time to have a digital detox day because you can take a break from work and all of the emails. On your digital detox day, turn off all of your work applications, shut down the laptop, and go as far as deleting your social media apps.

Now we know that this might be challenging, but you can take small steps to help you accomplish this through these tips which you can do throughout the day.

First, keep all of the technology out of your bedroom. Aim to have all TVs, computers, and cell phones out in another room. By making your room a screen-free area, you’ll boost your sleep and promote a healthier immune system.

Next, start your day in a different way than usual by choosing not to go straight to your phone or email in the morning. Take at least an hour to sit down and have some breakfast and just enjoy your morning without any interruptions.

We also suggest going for a long walk or getting a morning workout in, just spend your time doing something that keeps you present in the moment. Getting your blood flowing bright and early gets your mind working to prepare you for the day ahead.

Lastly, invite your friends to do the same. You’ll find it a lot easier to put your phone down when everyone else around you is doing the same thing. Invite your friends to join you for a night out without technology and just let loose. It will be that much more fun to interact with everyone when you are out for the evening and not glued to your phone.

Before going out

Downtown Minneapolis restaurants make for an incredible place to go prior to going out dancing or clubbing. Some Minneapolis restaurants that are great places to go include Nolo’s Kitchen, Hai Hai, and Young Joni. These places have tremendous drinks to get the night started along with delicious food. Going out to eat before hitting the club lets you socialize with your friends in a more chill environment.

How to find the best nightlife

No one wants to leave the house and have a regrettable night that doesn’t end up being fun, especially if you are unplugging from your phone. If you want to have a great night away from technology and out with your friends, you have to select your nightclub of choice for the evening carefully.

The best nightlife depends on what you are looking for. Do you like a more relaxed atmosphere or do you prefer a bigger party scene? This will help you decide what kind of nightclub will be best for you.

It doesn’t have to be a crazy nightclub, either. If you are looking to listen to music, find an awesome nightclub with a cool DJ set or a fantastic music set. If you like a more classical music set, a jazz club or piano bar would be a great place to start and a fun place to disconnect and listen to great live music.

Some bars and nightclubs are better for special occasions like birthdays or fun celebrations. If you are looking for the best nightlife for a special occasion, check if they have special services like bottle service or a private lounge that will elevate your night.

Uptown Minneapolis has a lot of amazing spots for the best nightlife, and quality bars and nightclubs will make your unplugged night unforgettable. If you are looking for a place to indulge in some delicious drinks, look for a cocktail lounge that is just the perfect amount of fancy for your night out.

Pro tip: bring a disposable camera! If you are working to unplug from your phone and don’t want to spend your time taking pictures on your phone, think about bringing a camera to document the night. It’ll be super fun to look back on the pictures in the morning or when you get them developed.

Dancing

Many bars downtown have incredible dancing, so if you are in the mood to go out and dance, check out a nightclub. A lot of places differ in music choices, like the Pourhouse with the prohibition-style bar.

Dancing at a nightclub also makes for a unique date night idea when you are unplugging from technology and want to let off some steam. If you are with a group or person that you trust and feel comfortable with, dancing the night away and having your own nightclub adventure will be one for the books.

After going out

After you’re done dancing the night away, you will probably be starving. Hit up some of Minneapolis’s best late-night spots.

Some great joints include Pizza Luce for incredible pizza, Parlour for some of the best burgers in the city, and Nightingale that serves a dinner menu until 1 am. Spoon and Stable is an excellent spot for a late-night dessert after a long night out, especially if you are on a date.

Oh, and don’t forget to stick to your digital detox even after the club. This is the time to catch up on the night’s adventure and hear your friends’ perspectives of the night.

Have a great weekend

Unplugging for a weekend has a whole list of benefits. They can make you more productive and relaxed during the time spent. Having a break from the physical, emotional, and mental effort of work that is needed when accessing technology can give you a break and give you a fresh perspective. While spending so much time on your devices, you can forget the beauty of going out for a night with no distractions and just enjoying the adventure with your best friends.

It lets you connect with the people around you without any distractions and be present with yourself. The distance from your technology can also free your mind from the ongoing processes of work and social media and open possibilities to other parts of the world.

You can grow closer to your friends and celebrate life events because there is always something to celebrate! Whether you want to chill at home or hit some of the best nightlife in the city, unplugging is proven to make you happier, so we suggest you try it out!
